Shawn Michaels health update; Shawn Michaels son Cameron Cade Hickenbottom exclusive photos and more

I't was reported recently and speculated that Shawn will be taking time off or need even more of a schedule break fairly soon or right after WrestleMania 25 due to his bad knee condition. That was also the reason why Shawn lost to Taker on his match at last sunday's WrestleMania 25 because Shawn was scheduled to take time off right after the show. Taker was scheduled to win because for Shawn to have the right excuse for him to have the break he needed to recover his bad knee condition; same happened at WrestleMania 15 where in Shawn was screwed out from his Championship against Austin because Shawn had a bad back injury that time. Anyways, and with Shawn not appearing at this week's Raw is certainly proves the news be true. Also, If you notice Shawn's left eye as stated by Marry is somewhat out of sorts and been "lazy" lately is because Shawn certainly has a medical condition on his left eye and even if I have not heard definitively what the condition is but it's clearly sort of. Yes, Shawn is very healthy and very fit on TV but who knows? I worry much about his eye condition, If it's true or not I hope he is OK. So with that being said, Let us all pray to God for his fast recovery and make him feel well!

Next, Thanks to MHO visitor Jennifer for donating the ff. exclusive photos of Shawn's son Cameron Cade with mom Rebecca in the front-row ringside seats at last year's WrestelaMania 24 event. The photos was taken March 30, 2008. Cameron is 8 year old at this photos and yes from what I'm seeing he is totally a carbon-copy of his father Shawn Michaels! See the rest here. Shawn Michaels vs. The UGLYtaker headlines the front-page of a newspaper plus online article; More WrestleMania 25 Photos

Shawn Michaels, the old football player from San Antonio, and Mark Calaway, aka the Undertaker, the old basketball player from Houston, brought down the house Sunday night during WrestleMania XXV at Reliant Stadium.

Michaels and the Undertaker, scripted or not, was simply one heck of a slobberknocker.

In 31 minutes of Tombstone piledrivers, superkicks, DDTs, figure-four leglocks and crossface headlocks, the Undertaker prevailed over Michaels to run his WrestleMania record to 17-0 in the most widely anticipated event of a four-hour card that surely justified the trip to Texas for World Wrestling Entertainment fans from all 50 states and dozens of foreign countries.

“I brought my son today, and he’s 8 years old, and I’ve been watching Shawn Michaels since I was 8,” said Robert Quinones of San Antoino. “I realize it’s show, but they showed stamina and endurance. There isn’t one of us who can go in there and do what they did.”

Spectacles like Michaels vs. the Undertaker surely will stoke the same sort of devotion from WWE fans as they scatter to return home today and plot their course toward next year’s event in suburban Phoenix. Each near fall brought screams of excitement from fans watching with the naked eye from expensive floor seats or on the giant stadium monitors from the upper deck.

At the match’s end, Michaels, 43, and the Undertaker, 44, both lay on the canvas as the crowd cheered, and there’s a better than 50-50 chance that the exhaustion was real, not staged, after a half-hour’s action inside and outside the 20-by-20-foot squared circle at Reliant’s 50-yard line.

WWE let The Undertaker to won BECAUSE Shawn Michaels is injured, his knee is in a bad shape and will be taking a break right after WrestleMania 25

Whoever conjured up that old cliché obviously knew nothing of Undertaker. After an epic battle pitting shadow against light, The Demon from Death Valley was finally able to bury the soul of “Mr. WrestleMania,” Shawn Michaels. A triumph of darkness, the victory propels Undertaker’s WrestleMania winning streak to an unprecedented 17-0.

As more than 70,000 sets of eyes focused on the ring inside Houston’s Reliant Stadium, vendors twiddled their thumbs and bathroom breaks were put on hold during the classic confrontation that had the international crowd fixed to their seats.

Having never defeated HBK, Undertaker set a deliberate and destructive pace, which seemed to pay dividends early in the match. Then again, Michaels enjoys quite a reputation for stamina and managed to recapture the momentum before moving outside the ring.

That’s when The Deadman leaped over the top rope, taking aim at HBK. But just as Undertaker was about to land atop Michaels with the full force of his nearly 300 pound frame, HBK darted aside and pulled a cameraman into Undertaker’s path. After a near count-out, The Phenom dragged himself back into the ring, and the legendary Superstars traded some of the most lethal maneuvers in their arsenal.

In the end, though, Undertaker would administer a second and final Tombstone to bury Michaels and secure his place in the annals of WWE history.

Though he lost, Michaels is to be commended for his efforts, never flinching from the daunting task before him. Unlike many of his predecessors, Michaels seemed unafraid to face The Phenom on WWE’s grandest stage, girded by both devotion and confidence.

For his part, Undertaker never once lost sight of his goal: Keeping his WrestleMania record unblemished. Now, in light of his monumental victory, Undertaker can rest – perhaps not “in peace” – but at least until he’s called on to defend The Streak at next year’s WrestleMania.

His sons have started to take an interest in him as opposed to their mom and he wants to take advantage of that. He says he will probably be back in the WWE when they become teenagers and think that he is a "dork and don't want to hang around with him anymore."

- Says his last several WrestleMania post plans are always the same. He goes back to his hotel room with his wife and kids and order a pizza and watch cartoons. He also mentions he eats a ton of chocolate chip cookies and cheese cake as he has a sweet tooth.

Most consider the strongest storyline to be The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels, which is also expected to be the best match on the show. Part of the reason is Michaels has been hands-on regarding the creative aspect of the build, like he was in the Chris Jericho feud. The other strength is that the two of them had a good idea for a long time that this would be the match, and there have been no changes in creative aspects to the match since the decision was made. The key to the story is Michaels getting the better of Undertaker at every turn, and in doing so, getting into his head in a manner that nobody ever has. Every time Undertaker goes for revenge, Michaels sneaks away. On the final show, with Michaels doing an interview with a mock funeral parlor, the lights went out, and Undertaker was in the ring. However, Michaels disappeared. Undertaker thought Michaels was hiding in a casket, opened the casket and he wasn’t there. Undertaker was then frustrated and sold it big. Then Michaels came from under the casket and superkicked him one last time.

Michaels has been walking about more gingerly than in the past, as his knees are in really bad shape. It’s speculated that he may need even more of a schedule break, if not time off, fairly soon.

This SUCKS!! Shawn might loss to Taker because Shawn is injured?? WTF!? No way!! HBK should win no matter what!! If you know your history, Shawn was screwed out from his Championship at WrestleMania 15 against Stone Cold because of his back injury. WWE let Stone Cold won in that match because Shawn has a bad back injury that time and NOW this ugly scenario might happen again because Shawn has a knee injury. This is so UNFAIR!! NO WAY!! Shawn Michaels is MR. WRESTLEMANIA so I would expect WWE should be smart enough and let Shawn wins because he deserves it more than Taker!! Shawn Michaels is more popular and more famous than taker!! HBK SHOULD WIN!! HBK!!

WWE Raw TV Results, Photos, Video and Noteworthy 03/30/09: Dallas, TX

Shawn Michaels arrives in a hearse; Shawn Michaels holds a funeral for Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak; The Phenom emerged and received some Sweet Chin Music from HBK
Outside of the arena, a black hearse had been waiting since the start of the show. The WWE Universe was shocked to find out that the hearse did not contain the grim Undertaker, but rather a confident Shawn Michaels, casting an air of uncertainty over the previously announced “Funeral for Mr. WrestleMania.”

When Shawn Michaels came to the ring, it became clear that the “funeral” announced earlier in the night was not for HBK, but rather for the undefeated WrestleMania streak of his opponent, Undertaker. Complete with a casket, roses and images of Michaels defeating The Deadman in their past encounters, the service saw HBK boast of his actions during recent weeks: Kicking Undertaker in the face and trespassing on his hollowed cemetery. The Showstopper announced that he had done all of this without enduring any retribution, and promised that the most memorable moment of the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania would be his victory over The Phenom.

Just then, the arena darkened and a gong rang out, heralding the arrival of Undertaker. When the lights came back up, The Phenom stood in the ring, but Michaels was nowhere to be seen. When it comes to WrestleMania, one person steals the show time after time. That's why Shawn Michaels has earned the nickname "Mr. WrestleMania". Last year, he had the emotional task of facing Ric Flair in what was the final match of the "Nature Boy's" legendary career. On Sunday, April 5 he will square off against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25 who is a perfect 16-0 on sports entertainment's biggest stage. Recently, I spoke with Michaels about the match, last year's show, the Hall of Fame and more.

You’ve been one of the main stars at WrestleMania for so many years – you’re Mr. WrestleMania. Does it ever get old for you or is it special every year?
You know – it does. It gets more special every year especially since my comeback. Every year I get out there and think it can’t get any better than this and then the next year it seems to. Again, this is another situation after doing this for so many years, you often think that – not that you’ve done it all but how is it going to be more special or more exciting the next time? It somehow happens. The Undertaker and myself have never faced each other at WrestleMania. We’ve two guys that have been a part of this organization for twenty years and we’ve somehow managed to stay separated. I think that’s an amazing thing. Again, at the 25th anniversary, these two guys that have been the cornerstone of the company for so long are going to meet up and I think it will be something that not only our company will enjoy but obviously the WWE fans will enjoy.

I remember the great match you had with the Undertaker in the first Hell in a Cell back in 1997. When was the last time the two of you had a match?
It was a short time after that. It was the Royal Rumble which would have been January 1998.

That's right.
Yeah, in the casket match. That was the match where I think the final blow happened to my back and a short time after that is when I took a hiatus.

I find it amazing that the two of you have not crossed paths since then because in this day and age with special attraction matches when it comes to a show like WrestleMania or Summerslam or even just something big for TV with a brand versus brand match but somehow you guys have been able to stay separated. How exactly does that happen?
I honestly can’t tell you because I feel the same way you do which is – like you said in this day and age. That’s very difficult to do and somehow we have managed to do that. I think a couple of years ago when it came down to The Undertaker and myself at the Royal Rumble, when he and I stood up and got – the feeling that was in that arena and coming across on that pay-per-view, I think that’s when a number of people said “hey”! (laughs) I think it’s one of those things where you’re going about your business and he’s going about his business and I think people forgot about it. That’s playing to our favor now. I certainly can tell you I don’t it was something that was purposely done because as you know, in our business whatever I think we can do to create interest and to create, I don’t know - at one point I used the word profit - just try to create excitement and create something positive for our line of work. We would have gone there if it was something we thought of. Again, I don’t think it crossed people’s minds.

Last year, you had the huge match at WrestleMania against Ric Flair which turned out to be his final match. Can you talk about the pressure leading up to the match compared to the pressure you put on yourself going into the match this year against The Undertaker?
The difference between the guys last year and this year – first of all, this year I’ve got somebody that if I were to just completely fall apart it would still be OK. And I haven’t had that in I can’t remember when. That is not to stay that I’m just so far above everyone else. It’s just one of those things where you’re just out there with somebody that – Undertaker and myself have been a part of this company and even though we haven’t been in the ring that many times, he and I, you’re around each other enough to know that you don’t have to worry about the other guy. Again, the pressure last year was, obviously, the culmination of this man that has been such a hallmark of this industry. So many people have been touched by him and what he’s done. And then to be able to deliver and honor that in one match and try to keep him at a place where he deserves to be kept., make it special to him, make it special to the people that are watching, people that have been affected by him. I’ve had a lot of pressure on me before but I cannot honestly say that I don’t know that I’ve felt any more than I did last year. And again, to be the guy that sort of, that has to do that (laughs)… On one hand, as I was, I was extremely honored but the pressure was unlike anything I’ve ever felt before. You have to detach yourself emotionally from all of that and try to give focus to the point at hand. That was a difficult thing to do. Your emotion wants to jump in there all the time and you sort of have to stay focused. I do have to say that’s one of the more difficult things I’ve had to endure professionally.

Since this is wrestling and we kind of know how retirements go on most occasions, did you ever think Ric was going to come back and have another match?
I don’t know. That was something – put it this way. We all know, if you’re a friend of Ric Flair which I am, you know him and you know how he is about this line of work. So, I know that might be a struggle for him. And that’s OK. You can’t be somebody’s friend and put requirements on it and I don’t do that to him and I wouldn’t do it to him. My job was to go out there and, in my mind, believe that it was going to be his last and do the absolute best job I could to pay tribute to that and honor that and that’s what I did. Ric Flair is a grown man and he can make his decisions and I would still be his friend no matter what decision he made.

You mentioned how special WrestleMania gets each and every year for you, especially since you’ve come back. Do you think you’ve gotten better with age?
You know, I’d like to think, for heaven’s sake, I’ve gotten a little wiser. (laughs) I think that’s helped certainly in the ring. As the business changes and as you get older, obviously there are areas where you slow down from a physical standpoint. With the way production and the way the business is changing, it calls for you to be better at things other than just the physical now and that’s something where I’ve really enjoyed improving on in my in-ring character If you will. I’ve enjoyed trying to convey a story, if you will, just with my face without ever saying a word and that’s been a fun art to try and learn. So, from, that standpoint, I think I’m still improving in areas that obviously I needed to improve in and I enjoy doing that.

The Hall of Fame has become such as huge part of WrestleMania weekend with it taking place the night before. This year, the Von Erichs are being inducted. With you growing up in Texas, what kind of influence did they have on you?
So many of the individuals that we’re inducting this year had an influence on me.

Sure like the Funks.
You bet. The Funks and a lot of people mind not know but Bill Watts was the first guy I ever worked for when I was 19 years old. There are a number of individuals. The Von Erichs were huge here in Texas. At 18 years old when I was trying to become a wrestler after watching them growing up, I was driving them around in a van taking them to and from the building and things like that. It’s going to be a very special night because this is a situation where the folks that you grew up with are going to have a special night and pay tribute to them. And in a strange sort of way, you feel like you’re a part of that because they had such an influence on you. This WrestleMania, because it’s in the state of Texas, so many of the Hall of Famers are from the state of Texas. So many of them had an influence on me and have been a part of my life and impacted my life in various different ways. It’s going to make that night different than many of the other Hall of Fames.

I read that in the current edition of the WWE Magazine that you had been asked about whenever the time comes and you go into the Hall of Fame on who would give the induction speech. You mentioned several guys and even threw out the name Bret Hart. Can you discuss that and why you think that might be an idea of something you would like to have if it could happen when that time comes?
Sure. I was saying that from the perspective of I so much enjoy the Hall of Fame but it can be – and I want this to come out right – it’s a time of tribute and a time of honoring but often we get focuses all on the good and it tends to be, I don’t know, a little fluffy. I would like mine to be, I don’t know, maybe be honest. I’m one with who I was and I’m one with who I am. I felt that Bret Hart could bring a real perspective to that. He’s always been a guy even know that despite all of our differences, he’s still always been objective about my ability. They didn’t put this in there I don’t think – the only thing that he wouldn’t have any knowledge of is the person I am now and I understand that. It was from the idea of wanting someone that could give a real honest perspective of my career because it hasn’t all been fluff and it hasn’t all been fantastic and I think that’s OK. I just felt that I can be a pretty strange guy. (laughs) I supposed that it was just something that I thought, gosh, my Hall of Fame induction to be more about truth more than anything else. It’s sort of a fantasy, sort of, dream job and it’s a great line of work so we can create anything we want and it can be very fairytale-ish and I think that’s great on one hand. I just figured maybe it would be, I don’t know, neat or nice to have somebody that can give a real perspective on the journey because it hasn’t been a fairytale. It’s turned out awesome but it was a tough, rugged road. I just thought that maybe he could give a fresh perspective to it. It’s one of those things that you go I know this sounds crazy but…

With WrestleMania taking place in Houston, how nice is it to be back in the state of Texas? You won’t have that long of a drive to get there. (Shawn lives in San Antonio.)
No, I was saying that earlier. It will be three hours from home and heck, if I felt like it I’ll be able to drive home afterwards. There’s going to be a comfort to this one and maybe a more relaxed atmosphere on one hand for this WrestleMania. There’s so many pressures and anxieties and stresses that go along with it, it will be nice to have a few of them sort of taken care of and certainly being in your home state is one of them and being close to home, being able to know the area somewhat. So, there’s going to be a real freshness about this one that hasn’t been there for many of the other ones.

From the first time I sat down to watch a wrestling show, I've been a huge Shawn Michaels fan. His ability to captivate an audience is a God-given talent, and it's something I try my best to emulate each time I step into a spotlight.

Watching Raw and Smackdown this week has really given us a taste for WrestleMania especially Shawn Michaels against your storyline brother Undertaker. Is that what the boys in the back consider as the real main event of the show?
Yeah, I think so, especially for me.

They’ve had very few previous matches and to put them in a bout at WrestleMania just means so much more.

And both are going to genuinely be out to prove something, as both could legitimately claim that title of Mr WrestleMania.

And remember that Undertaker has never defeated Shawn Michaels in a one-on-one match.

But none of those – including the one where I made my debut back in 1997 – were at WrestleMania, where Undertaker is always at his best.

So you are going to see be a tremendous match between two future Hall Of Famers that will be a once in a lifetime event for our fans.

And lastly, Shawn Michaels reveals his favorite WrestleMania moments in a recent WWE.Com article and here is what Mr. Wrestlemania had to say.

"I'd have to say for me, it goes to the match between Macho Man and Ricky Steamboat. I was already wrestling at that time and was a student of the game. The performance those guys put on at WrestleMania III was special. As far as [my own WrestleMania moments], the ones that I've had in my second run have been so enjoyable because I never thought I'd get that second chance. Everything since my return has been special since it's all been extra."

And in a interesting note, Chavo Guerrero also reveals his favorite and yes from what I see he is a Shawn Michaels fan too! Awesome!

"Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle always stood out in my mind as a great match. Anything involving Michaels is always grade A. That match, as far as WrestleManias, sticks out for me. I'm from a wrestling family, so it wasn't always about the pageantry. I love wrestling and that match was great wrestling. It had everything - high flying, mat wrestling, brawling. That match defines what we do in this business."

Bubba brought up Undertaker at WrestleMania and Jericho said the match with Shawn Michaels is the moneymaker this year and that Shawn is Mr. WrestleMania due to the fact he usually has the best performance on the card. They discussed how even though Michaels isn't all that big in size that he can still tell a story better than anybody. Chris brought up his feud with Shawn saying it was supposed to be only a month but he and Shawn made the fans care and joked that without caring its only two guys wrestling oiled up in their underwear and that you can see any Tuesday night at Bubba's house. Bubba asked if locker room leaders like Taker, Hunter, Michaels, and Jericho ever talk to the newcomers about drugs and partying. Chris said the newer generation doesn't need it and that they catch a lot of crap for being video game junkies on the road, but its much healthier than being out partying. He said the current drug testing is brutal and that the younger generation of wrestlers don't seem to be going down the route that others have (drug, partying mistakes).

Bam Neely mentions Shawn in his recent Monday Night Mayhem interview.

As mentioned, Justin had the chance to compete against some of the best superstars biggest names in the WWE, and Bam was asked by Mosh & Blade if he felt any nervousness about wrestling against such established talent. He mentioned a story about when Shawn Michaels walking up to him & giving him some words of encouragement. "Shawn Michaels looked right at me (right in my face), and asked me 'You want this,' and I went 'Yeah.' So he looked at me & went, 'Hmm, prove it...Go out there, and make an impact right frickin' now.'" Justin went on to say that he was not scared of wrestling any of the big names, simply because he felt "he belonged there," and he still believes/feels he should be there today.

Next, the famous reporter of BaltimoreSun.Com Kevin Eck mentions Shawn in his latest blog.

I thought Shawn Michaels’ parody of The Undertaker’s entrance and promos stole the show on Friday night’s episode of Smackdown. It looked like a scene from Jesus Christ Superstar as Michaels and the hooded druids made their way to the ring all dressed in white amid smoke, bright lights and the image of beaming cross on the stage screen.

After imitating Undertaker’s methodical procession to the ring, Michaels bowed his head and slowly removed his Undertaker-style hat, but instead of looking up and rolling his eyes in the back of his head, he looked straight into the camera with a sheepish grin.

Then, in explaining the stark contrast between him and The Undertaker, Michaels quoted scripture with the same delivery as Undertaker’s signature dark promos. One of Michaels’ best lines was when he said that Undertaker “walks amongst the shadows, where I thrive in the spotlight.”

At the conclusion of his promo, Michaels bowed his head just as The Undertaker does after delivering his “Rest in Peace” line. The segment was good at that point, but it became great when the somber music abruptly stopped, Michaels’ familiar entrance music started playing and Michaels began prancing around the ring doing his “Sexy Boy” routine. That had me laughing out loud.

I thought fort sure that The Undertaker was one of the druids and was about to attack Michaels, but Undertaker popped up though the ring canvas instead. That made for a better visual, as Undertaker was figuratively rising from hell. Undertaker grabbed Michaels, but he was able to slip away. Michaels really seemed to be channeling his mid-to-late 1990s obnoxious “Heartbreak Kid” character, dancing and taunting The Undertaker as he retreated up the ramp and onto the stage.

This was a very entertaining segment, and WWE continues to do a good job of making Michaels seem like a real threat to end The Undertaker’s winning streak at WrestleMania.

Shawn Michaels pays "tribute" to Undertaker
The Showstopper paid a special "tribute" to his WrestleMania opponent, Undertaker (Match preview), making his entrance in the spirit of the bizarro world where everything is opposite. He slowly walked to the ring wearing a long white coat, white pants, white shirt, a lowered white hat and white padded gloves. He even surrounded himself with druids in white hoods as smoke consumed the air in every direction.

Michaels spoke of thriving in the spotlight throughout his career while Undertaker had flourished in the shadows. He assured the WWE Universe that he is not afraid of The Deadman because he has eternal life. However, even HBK’s spectacular entrance soon got buried by that of The Phenom. Undertaker suddenly burst through the ring floor with a vengeance; nearly chokeslamming Mr. WrestleMania before Michaels scrambled to safety with a satisfied look on his face. Undertaker appears to warn Shawn Michaels; HBK addresses The Phenom from a graveyard
SmackDown Superstar Undertaker emerged on Raw to warn his WrestleMania opponent of what’s in store for him on The Grandest Stage of Them All. The Phenom noted that while it’s true that he has never defeated HBK, the last time they faced, Michaels’ body was so broken that he spent the next five years recovering. Not one to be outdone, Shawn Michaels appeared, addressing Undertaker from a graveyard. HBK made it known that he isn’t afraid of his match with Undertaker, and won’t be intimidated. I thought the HBK promo was intriguing and certainly drove home the point that Michaels is defiant, unafraid, not intimidated and looking forward to breaking the Undertaker's 16-0 winning streak at Wrestlemania. Streaks are made to be broken, without question, and if any one can rise to the occasion and accomplish the seemingly impossible it is Shawn Michaels. I was also somewhat surprised at the stoic Undertaker's reaction after Michaels' cemetery oratory concluded. Normally, the Demon of Death Valley doesn't show that much emotion so perhaps HBK successfully got under Taker's skin. Nonetheless this is the most talked about match at WM25 around J.R.'s BBQ from the guests that I have visited with over the past few weeks.

One has to assume that WM25 will end with a title bout but one can also certainly make an argument for the match surrounding "The Streak" to close the show in Reliant Stadium but I would not wager on such a thing happening.

Shawn Michaels reflects on his ownership of the Show of Shows, closes the door on any future ladder matches, and shocks us with a potential request for a very personal favor from Bret Hart.

Shawn, in honor of The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, if you had to bestow the title on anyone, whom would you pronounce as the new Mr. WrestleMania?
I said "Mr. WrestleMania" as a line once in a promo and, just like "The Showstopper," it took on a line of its own. To anoint someone new would imply that I'm not Mr. WrestleMania anymore, and that can't be the case, It's still me.

It's been 20 years since your first 'Mania match, and back then, pay-per-views were relatively now. Did that make WrestleMania V more special?
It made it huge! I remember missing the first-ever SummerSlam not long before getting to WWE, and I was just devastated. The fact that there were only four pay-per-views a year made each one gigantic. So to miss a WrestleMania would feel catastrophic. I don't mean this to sound arrogant, but today, it's not a question of if I'm going to be on the show. I mean that in the most humble way. But back then, you had to scratch and fight just to get on a show, and when you did, it was a huge accomplishment.

Last year at No Mercy you were in your first ladder match in six years. When you're at home cleaning the gutters, do you have flashbacks to old matches?
No. I'm on a ladder every now and then, fixing bulbs or leaks, but it's a conservative six feet off the ground. Other than that, I no longer enjoy ladders. I used to feel very at home on top of them, but that's not the case anymore. When I came through the curtain after that match with Jericho, I felt that was the last one. Don't expect another ladder match from me; it's not going to happen.

Speaking of Chris Jericho, things got heated between him and your wife in the ring at SummerSlam 2008. Did you get household detention for bringing her to the pay-per-view?
Heck no! I married the coolest woman in the world. She's tough. She can get down and be a redneck, and the next day she can homeschool our kids, run our business and be a lady. I know people say they have a great wife, but mine is a phenomenal woman.

Th Miz & John Morrison recently took some shots at DX. You replied by saying, "You can mock my kids, you can punch my wife in the face, but nobody mocks the chaps." What makes the chaps so sacred?
Nothing. It was a stupid line. Whenever I'm in DX, it's about being as stupid as I can possibly be, and that's it. Every now and then Triple H will say I look like a Village People reject or something like that--sometimes you just have to make fun of yourself.

Your sense of humor carries over into matches, too, apparently. WWE referees told us you're pretty talkative in the ring. What's up with that?
[Laughs] Now that I'm older, I'm more relaxed and I like to have fun every now and then. Obviously there's a difference between a live event and WrestleMania, where I'll take things very seriously. But at live events I have a tendency to be very over the top. I'll usually do my own commentary. I'll say things like, "Oh, my God! How can he take all this pain?!?"

We always watch your matches in awe. When was the last time you watched one of your matches and said, "Wow, I can't believe I did that?"
Probably never. I'm a nitpicker. It's one of those things where, if you played the perfect game, it's time to stop playing. That's probably what keeps me coming back. I always find things that I can refine. Everyone goes on and on about that ladder match [at WrestleMania X], and I understand all the praise, but I look at that match and feel, [Shrugs his shoulder] "Eh, it was all right."

All right?! We're shocked to hear that! When the times comes, whom do you want to induct you into the WWE Hall of Fame?

JBL hails from west texas. You make your home in San Antonio. What are the differences between you two lone star staters?
I'm more country. He's more metropolitan, like Dallas or Houston, what with him being a tycoon. I'm more regular Texas. I don't want to say that I'm a redneck, but I'm a positive redneck.

Kevin Nash mentions Shawn in his recent article/interview by TheBristolPress.Com.

Shawn Michaels saw Nash on television and went to WWE owner Vince McMahon and said he should bring the big man aboard immediately.

“Shawn was a little guy and he saw me as the perfect complement to him because I was a gigantic big guy,” Nash said. “The combo of the two of us was pretty much unstoppable.”

Nash debuted in the WWE as Diesel and was Michael’s bodyguard that would interfere in matches on his behalf. While he didn’t find himself wrestling all that much in the early going, Nash still ended up getting one heck of an education.

“I ended up learning from the best ever” Nash said of Michaels. “It was on the job training.”

Anyone who followed wrestling closely back in the late 1990’s was aware of a group of wrestlers that collectively became known as “The Kliq” backstage in the WWE. The group consisted of Nash, Michaels, Scott Hall (Razor Ramon), Sean Waltman (X-Pac) and Hunter Hearst Helmsley (Triple H).

At the time, wrestling was still driven by bad guys vs. good guys and that was supposed to be carried out at all times, including traveling together.

“To keep up appearances, the last thing you wanted to do was drive to a match with a guy you were feuding with,” Nash said. “But me, Shawn and Scott Hall decided we would drive with who we wanted to. We were on the road so much that we just decided to make it as enjoyable as possible. Sean and Hunter came in later and the five of us traveled everywhere for two years together.”

Nash said the controversial group was just a bunch of guys that loved the business.

“It was just a collaboration of guys that lived wrestling.”

Shawn Michaels & Undertaker def. Intercontinental Champion JBL & Vladimir Kozlov; Phenom knocked out cold via Sweet Chin Music!
There is nothing so tenuous as trust when pride intervenes. As the man who has posted a 16-0 record at WrestleMania paired up with the man dubbed “Mr. WrestleMania,” there were bound to be misgivings. Undertaker teamed with his WrestleMania opponent in a tag team match against new Intercontinental Champion JBL & Vladimir Kozlov. Tensions were laid bare once it appeared that Undertaker was about to secure the victory. Instead, his partner HBK tagged himself in and secured the win himself over JBL.

HBK’s one-upsmanship provoked The Deadman to raise a boot to Michaels’ head, but HBK ducked the black, leather brick. The two then locked eyes for a few anxious moments before Michaels exited up the entrance ramp. The Deadman followed, pausing at the top of the ramp to turn back to the crowd. That was HBK’s cue. He stepped onto the ramp and laid out Undertaker with Sweet Chin Music. (PHOTOS X8|DISCUSS)

Shawn Michaels & Rey Mysterio defeated Chris Jericho & Kane. Mysterio hit the 619 on Kane and Shawn hit sweet chin music on Jericho for the win. Shawn got the biggest cheers/pop of the night and Rey and Kane came as follows. Jericho got the
biggest boos/heat of the night from the live crowd. It was a great show and It was my first time to attend a live show and luckily I met Shawn *wink*

Just for my money, there might not be a match at WrestleMania more eagerly anticipated than the one-on-one between Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. Both men are sure-fire “first ballot” HOF’ers and as HBK pointed out Monday night, Undertaker has never defeated Michaels. Do you remember their epic Hell in a Cell Match? These two Superstars will likely never meet again in an environment such as WrestleMania. For me, simply as a fan, this is a “must-see” match, just as last year was when Ric Flair had his farewell match in Orlando at ‘Mania ironically thanks to HBK.

No one that I can recall has ever been a better “big match” wrestler than Shawn Michaels, but one could argue that Undertaker is “right there” being 16-0 at WrestleMania. 16-0 is freakish when one really thinks about it and breaks down all the stars that have lost at WrestleMania events but are, as they should be, still considered legends. “The Streak” will never be approached in my opinion, and if anyone can beat ‘Taker it’s Mr. WrestleMania.

The week before had seen Shawn Michaels defeat his former employer JBL in an effort to earn the right to face Undertaker at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. But there was another Superstar who harbored ambitions of ending The Phenom’s historic 16-0 streak at WrestleMania: SmackDown’s Vladimir Kozlov. On Raw, HBK squared off against the imposing Moscow Mauler, with the winner earning his spot on The Grandest Stage of Them All. In spite of Kozlov’s superior strength and power, Michaels persevered, putting an end to his opponent’s winning streak, and earning an opportunity to end that of Undertaker as well. 1. A Wrestlemania 25 moments video was aired mainly focussing on Iron Man Matches. The video focussed heavily on the 1996-1997 Match of the Year - Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart Iron Man Match wherein HBK defeats Bret for the WWE title at Wrestlemania for about 1 hour, 1 minute and 52 seconds.
2. Grisham interviews HBK backstage. Grisham says Kozlov hasn’t lost in singles competition and beat Taker last week. HBK says he knows as Kozlov about chokeslammed him through the mat. But HBK has stole the show at every WM. Tonight Kozlov’s streak is over and at WM he’ll end Taker’s.
3. WWE Rewind Commercial. HBK beat JBL last week to be able to face Kozlov so one of them can face Taker at WM. After the match Kozlov came out and they fought. A huge chokeslam to HBK from Kozlov.
4. Lots of "HBK" huge chants from the live crowd.
5. Shawn Michaels ends the undefeated streak of Vladimir Kozlov. This is the first loss of Kozlov's WWE career.
6. Its official Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25.
7. After the match, Taker appears and stares Shawn as he stares back.
8. HBK got the biggest cheer and pop of the night from the fans.

Second Fan Report/Photo:Shawn Michaels Meet and Greet with Autograph Signings and Photo Opp In-store Appearance at Last Licks Rye Brook, Rye Brook, NY

Just got back from the Shawn Michaels signing at Last Licks in Rye Ridge. Got there around 7:30am and was 5th online. HBK came about 11:50am. Threre were some VIP ticket holders there and a couple kids in wheelchairs that he signed for first. I got in around 12:20. He signed my WrestleMania 23 poster(which I already have signed by Cena), but they were rushing people pretty quickly. Couldnt get a decent photo with him. He still has his head down signing my poster. The guy who was there rushed my photo to and it came out messed up. Michaels himself was friendly and in good spirits though.

I have been to a couple Steiner signings including Hulk Hogan who had alot more people then this one and wasnt as rushed. The staff was other wise very friendly. It was cold and they came out with hot chocolate for everybody which was nice.

The likely future TNA Women's Knockout Champion discusses her break in the wrestling business, her passion for wrestling, what TNA offers that other promotions don't, what she likes best about being a Knockout, her love for horror movies, and more. The main highlight of the interview is when Love was asked about her favorite wrestler of all-time, to which she replies Shawn Michaels.

As announced on WWE Mobile on AT&T the night prior, JBL appeared on Raw in order to make a historic declaration. The self-proclaimed “wrestling god,” revealed what he believes to be his destiny: Ending Undertaker’s unassailable 16-0 record at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. The Longhorn Loudmouth’s pontificating was interrupted, however, by the Superstar that defeated him at No Way Out in an All or Nothing Match, JBL’s former employee, Shawn Michaels. The Showstopper revealed that he also desires to face The Phenom at the Grandest Spectacle of Them All, ending that legendary winning streak and reestablishing himself as Mr. WrestleMania. Sweet Chin Music to our ears; Shawn Michaels post-match interview

SEATTLE – After months of fighting a moral battle within himself as JBL’s employee, Shawn Michaels finally broke free from the grasp of the self-made millionaire. Playing the time-tested tune of Sweet Chin Music, HBK defeated his former boss to win their All or Nothing Match.

Preserving ownership of his namesake and earning himself a “buyout” from JBL, The Showstopper is now no longer under contract to the Longhorn Loudmouth.

The economy has been hard on all of us in the WWE Universe, and HBK was no exception, which placed him in an unfortunate predicament regarding the well-being of himself and his family.

As always, the business connoisseur that JBL is, he stepped in to lend an unlikely helping hand to The Showstopper, fully aware that acquiring the services of a living legend such as Michaels would be quite beneficial in attempting to become World Champion once again.

Given his financial turmoil, HBK had no choice but to accept the offer from JBL with his family in mind, but he never knew that it would be so hard and that his sense of morality would be put to its limits.

Finally, just weeks ago on Raw, Layfield offered HBK the release from his contract, as well as a full payment of what is left owed on the contract, but in return, his name and likeness would be on the line for the self-proclaimed “wrestling god” to win in an All or Nothing Match.

Seemingly with no other choice, Michaels accepted the challenge and the chance to be free from the tyrannical reign of JBL as his employer, but when that fateful night came at No Way Out, it was anything but easy.

After listening to salacious comments made about his wife Rebecca, and JBL demanding The Showstopper to have her at ringside to watch his downfall, Mr. WrestleMania might have had just enough fuel and inspiration to overcome all odds once again.

HBK and JBL fought tooth and nail, with Michaels giving everything he had within him to ensure that he beat his boss. The Showstopper’s livelihood was on the line, as well as a monetary sum that could help ensure his family’s welfare.

When all the dust settled, HBK stood tall once again with Rebecca close by his side, keeping his name from exploitation and defeating the Longhorn Loudmouth with a pin in the center of the ring after connecting with Sweet Chin Music.

Shawn Michaels and Rey Mysterio (w/o JBL) defeated Kane and Randy Orton (w/o Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase) after Rey hit both Kane and Orton with a double 619 and Michaels gave Kane Sweet Chin Music for the pin. Crowd was hot for this match and the best match of the night. Michaels got the biggest cheers of the night and Orton came in second. Jericho got the biggest boos of the night.

Also, Kevin Eck of Baltimore Sun's Ring Post mentions Shawn Michaels and made his predictions this Sunday's No Way Out ppv in his latest blog.

Shawn Michaels vs. JBL in an All or Nothing match: I figured a match with this kind of stipulation – Michaels either gets all the money owed to him and is released from his contract, or he continues working for JBL and loses the rights to his name and likeness – would take place at WrestleMania and be the climax to their feud, so I’m surprised to see it on this show. After months of buildup, it still seems like Michaels and JBL should face each other at WrestleMania, but maybe that is no longer the case. This is a wild guess: Michaels wins and John Cena somehow gets involved, leading to a three-way for the title at WrestleMania between Cena, Michaels and JBL.

For quite sometime now, Shawn Michaels has been on JBL payroll helping him in certain situations while also hurting him as well. JBL is facing a legend in this business who he’s been able to control and that has to make him feeling pretty damn confident. I think HBK will not only win this match, I think he will release the burden JBL lays on him and that’s going to be a great feeling I’m sure.

Shawn Michaels vs JBL - All or Nothing

Stephen Randle: I can't think of any logical person who thinks that JBL will win here. I mean, owning the Shawn Michaels name forever? I don't think so. I'm a little disappointed, because I think they rushed to the conclusion after spending so much time setting it up, but I guess I can take solace in the fact that the match probably won't be very good, which would have been magnified at Mania.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Mike Chin: I thought they were going to hold this match off for Wrestlemania, and I am mostly happy they didn't. Happy because Michaels deserves better at Mania, but a bit reserved because I worry they won't have time now to properly build Michaels a fitting Wrestlemania program (my guess is an interpromotional match, likely with 'Taker).

But, I digress. There's a slight chance JBL could win, for a surprise and to prolong the feud, but I think WWE is prepared to cut its losses and move Michaels on to bigger things--and maybe set JBL up as a non-traditional Money in the Bank guy Wrestlemania. Regardless, Michaels, in all likelihood, takes the decisive victory.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Julian Bond: Man...has this feud been personal or what! Shawn Michaels with his excellent partners (Flair, Batista, Jericho) in the ring has been providing compelling story after compelling story for the last year now and it's been a beautiful thing. This storyline with JBL has been no exception. While many predicted that this would have dragged on longer into Wrestlemania, I think that the conclusion hits here. The two should put on a great emotional match with Michaels taking the win and his pride back, and my little guess (and hope) is that he will then move on to rumble with someone who might be freed up...like the Undertaker for a bout at Wrestlemania.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Joe Roche: Another match that has no mystery surrounding it. I for one could not be happier that this feud is finally over. I think it stunk when it started, it was horrendous in the middle and it's mercifully going to end before Wrestlemania. HBK seems to have sleepwalked through most of this angle, and it would have made a lot more sense for this premise to be done with a younger star to JBL's Million Dollar Man. That being said, HBK gets the convincing win here, gets his redemption and moves on to Wrestlemania against the Undertaker.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Rob McNew: There are a number of ways they could go with this. JBL could win and draw the story on a little bit further. Shawn could win and this feud could just end. The decision could be inconclusive and we could draw this out even further to Wrestlemania. My thoughts are that Shawn wins, but the feud doesn't end. JBL loses and the financial portion of this feud ends, but JBL might just do something so vile to Rebecca that they are forced to settle the feud at Wrestlemania. Either way I think Shawn wins.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Dan Torkel: This is exactly where it needs to be. Give JBL one more 3+ star match before eternally removing him from the top of the card and send Shawn home to Texas fo a date with Taker.

Anytime I get to quote O-Town (a great friggin' band, I don't care what anyone says) it's a good day. It's also awesome that this program, as solid as its been, can be concluded at No Way Out allowing us the opportunity to see HBK-Taker, the match everyone including the combatants wanted, at WrestleMania. If HBK loses, we riot.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Michael Weyer: Having JBL win would be nice for the storyline but I just don't see it. It's built too much for Michaels to finally come back and get his comeuppance and free him up for someone else at Mania. It'll be another great bout between them but HBK will get it out in the end.

WINNER: HBK

Michael Bauer: We all know how these work. Face is in a do or die either in his hometown or affecting the next time he goes there. WrestleMania is in Houston... close enough. This story has gone on long enough as it is and I can not see another match between these two at WrestleMania.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Jeremy Thomas: This is another match that's not too hard to call. I'd thought that Michaels and JBL would last through WrestleMania, and that may still be the case if JBL goes for revenge following his loss here...either way the 'E won't keep up the "HBK as employee" thing here. Rebecca will likely be at ringside for this and will provide the proper pathos when JBL's in control, and that will give Shawn the inspiration to come back strong and pick up the win to gain his freedom, and give JBL the superkick that we've been waiting to see.

Don’t blink Sunday or you might miss Shawn Michaels stealing the show at No Way Out when he faces JBL in a bout with significant financial implications. Shawn Michaels was the first ever Superstar of the Day (November 24, 2008) and now Shawn is the first ever 2-Time Superstar of the Day! Cool!

Also, Kevin Eck of Baltimore Sun's Ring Post mentions Shawn and his very gorgeous wife Rebecca Michaels in his latest blog.

Judging by this segment, it seems as if the “Nature Boy” is not coming out of retirement to face Jericho, which is a good thing. Flair vowed to stay retired and said that he had too much respect for Shawn Michaels to wrestle again.

It also seemed odd not to have a backstage scene in which Flair interacted with Michaels, given their history. I would have showed the two of them greeting each other and catching up, and then have JBL interrupt them and tell Michaels that he needed to speak with him alone. Michaels, still under JBL’s control, would have had to excuse himself from his conversation with Flair and do as he was told. …

It seems that Michaels’ wife, Rebecca, might be making an appearance at Sunday’s No Way Out pay-per-view. If this was TNA, she’d take a bribe from JBL and turn on her husband. … (ON THE LAST SENTENCE FROM THE LAST PARAGRAPH, HELL NO WAY!!!!!!!!ANGRY**)

I'm so excited about this sunday's No Way Out ppv because hopefully we got to see Rebecca again and we might luckily see their two cute little kids also Cameron and Cheyenne for the first time on screen because they might be on ringside or backstage this sunday. I'm a huge fan of the Hickenbottom clan and cait wait to see them all in tv....(",) Go HBK!!!!

Mark Henry def. Shawn Michaels by disqualification; JBL antagonizes HBK
Shawn Michaels’ frustration appears ready to boil over. Thanks to his “employer,” JBL, Michaels was forced to face down the challenge of Mark Henry in what JBL referred to as a “tune-up” match. A clearly aggravated HBK ignored the referee as he attacked Henry, earning a disqualification.

After the match, The Showstopper’s No Way Out opponent reminded him that the two will battle in an “All or Nothing” match. If Michaels wins, JBL pays him off and he’s free of any further contractual obligations. If, however, he loses, Layfield owns Shawn Michaels’ name and likeness. In one last tweak at HBK, the Longhorn Loudmouth ordered HBK to bring his wife Rebecca to their match, so that she can watch him lose.

I felt for Shawn Michaels on Monday night as he had to endure the world's longest Performance Review in corporate history from the lovely and talented JBL. HBK vs. JBL is going to happen at N.W.O. with the stakes financially high, but I like Michaels' chances especially in this big match scenario. However, something tells me this story is far from being told and might not have a happy ending. The ongoing saga between the moneyed former Texan and the unmoneyed current Texan has been interesting to follow on Monday nights.

Unfortunately Shawn Michaels didn't bagged the award and came in only at No. 2 behind Chris Jericho on ProWrestling.net's Dot Net Awards for 2008 Best Pro Wrestler however, heres a notable quotes from reporters Rich Twilling and Jason Powell on their thoughts regarding the award.

Rich Twilling's thoughts: While I would love to look in the direction of Nigel McGuinness or Bryan Danielson, this award most definitely goes to Shawn Michaels. Michaels was absolutely amazing this year in (and out of) the ring. His WrestleMania match with Ric Flair was one for the ages. He elevated everyone he was in the ring with and deserves this award going away. Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, and Edge were not far behind.

Jason Powell's thoughts: I had a conversation with someone who works in the industry earlier today. This person, whose opinion I respect greatly, noted that John Cena has had his best matches with Shawn Michaels. I made the point that just about every wrestler has had his best matches with Michaels, and the person I spoke with did not disagree. Michaels was the most consistent in-ring performer in 2008 and it wasn't even close. He had memorable matches with every major performer he stepped in the ring with. He had the difficult task of giving Ric Flair the type of sendoff he deserved, and he stepped up and delivered a masterful performance in true Mr. WrestleMania style.

The performances by JBL and Shawn Michaels continue to make their angle compelling despite the flaws in logic. The stipulation for their match at No Way Out is that JBL basically owns Michaels for the rest of his life (and beyond, according to JBL) if he wins. I think Michaels should contact a lawyer because I’m pretty sure slavery has been abolished in this country. …

One more observation on JBL-Michaels: Why would JBL think that Michaels is a “broken-down old man” who he can easily defeat when Michaels just defeated Cena and almost beat him a second time? …

With Orton, Michaels and JBL involved in singles matches, the Raw elimination chamber match does not have the star power of the Smackdown match, but I like that there are some new faces in there in Kingston and Mike Knox.
