No.6 - Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker

Badd Blood: In Your House -- Oct. 5, 1997
Decision: Michaels defeats Undertaker after Kane makes his debut

Hell in a Cell matches are a staple of the WWE, and this was the one that started it all. Undertaker and Michaels had been feuding throughout the summer of 1997, beginning after Michaels ended Undertaker’s shot at the title with a blow from a steel chair. Leading up to this match, it was rumored Undertaker was a murderer, having burned down a building as a child, killing his parents but leaving his brother, Kane, alive but horribly disfigured. Kane made his debut during the match, breaking into the cell and using Undertaker’s Tombstone move against him, allowing Michaels to seize control and win.

No.5 - Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels

WrestleMania X -- March 20, 1994
Decision: Ramon defends his Intercontinental Championship over Michaels

The feud between Ramon and Michaels began in the months leading up to WrestleMania X. The two wrestlers argued as to who was the rightful owner of the Intercontinental title (Michaels was stripped of the title due to a suspension and contended he hadn’t lost it in the ring). The two foes battled it out high above the mat in a ladder match, which ended when Ramon grabbed the hanging belt and was crowned champion. The action-filled bout was crowned 1994’s "Match of the Year" by Pro Wrestling Illustrated and is regarded as one of the top matches in WWE history.

No.4 - Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels

WrestleMania XII -- March 31, 1996
Decision: Michaels defeats Hart with a superkick more than an hour into the match

With the top title on the line, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels fought for 60 minutes in a match where the win went to whomever had the most decisions. After a scoreless hour, it was sent to sudden-death overtime, where the exhausted rivals continued to fight in an impressive feat of endurance. Finally, Michaels used his trademark Sweet Chin Music kick to defeat Hart and win his first title.
